"Silver Rose"

Every once in a while a classic car comes along that just surpasses all others. It was during the 2004 Morro Bay Car Show when Autoshop Classics discovered this rare beauty. We’re speaking of the ‘37 Dodge Coupe “Silver Rose” owned by Jerry and Debbie Isler of Clovis, California.

As spectators walked along the crowded streets full of classic cars they couldn’t help but notice this beautifully restored vehicle. It stands out in the sea of Hot Rod Reds, Basic Gloss Blacks and the “can you see me now” Yellows which are always around. The “Silver Rose” calming color calls the viewer to come closer without hesitation. Yet, it’s the flawless detail which really impresses the viewer as their eyes discover every inch of this car.

With only 14,000 miles since 1998, when Jim Peters of Myrtle, Oregon built it, one would think you’d find some road damage or lack of care but, NO! Perfect care and attention has been given to preserve this beautiful metal body and flawless paint which was done by Forney Auto Body in Clovis, California.

What powers this dream is a mild Chevy 350 engine loaded with lots of chrome goodies which is married to a turbo 350 transmission. A healthy Camaro donated the front end and 10 bolt POSI rear end for those quick get-a-ways. Handling and control is made easy with power steering, disc brakes and strong meaty tires mounted on traditional “Old School” wire spoke rims.

Whether you’re in a hurry, or not, doesn’t matter when ridding in this treasure. Interior amenities include a/c, heater, stereo system, CB, electric windows and classic aftermarket steering wheel mounted on a tilt column. And for your viewing pleasure rose tinted glass has been installed plus a burl wood dash accents its inlaid gauges. The original seats are covered in light gray fabric to add period styling and to provide a very comfortable ride at any distance.

Beauty, grace and charm; It’s no wonder that “Silver Rose” has won over a dozen trophies since it’s restoration at various events including NSRA of Sacramento and Bakersfield and the Valley Hospital Street Rod Show, Fresno, California.

Autoshop Classics is proud and honored to have awarded our “Best of Show” to such a rare and beautiful classic; “Silver Rose”.
